Arvada Transportation

The Arvada community is served by a variety of transportation options that allow easy connection to major business and retail centers, educational facilities, homes, and recreational and cultural facilities throughout the state. Arvada has easy access to Interstate 70, Interstate 76, US Highway 36, several state highways, regional bicycle and pedestrian trails, regional bus routes, and a major international airport making for a well rounded transportation system that serves the entire community.

Adopt a street
Help Keep Arvada Beautiful All Year Round!
The Adopt-A-Street Program is when volunteers collect litter from our community streets, parks, green belts, and waterways, individuals or groups can volunteer to pickup litter on streets in Arvada all year round! Parks, green belts, or creeks are adopted through the Parks Department as part of their Adopt-a-Trail program. Contact Craig Hillegass, 720-898-7422, email:

Citizen Transportation Committee
As a part of the City's Boards, Commissions, and Committees system, the City Council has appointed two committees to advise them on transportation issues in the City.

The Transportation Implementation Committee (TIC) is charged with advising the City Council in the selection and implementation of major transportation projects in the City, with the goals of improving traffic flow, safety, quality of life, and emergency response time in the community
The Gold Line Advisory Committee (GLAC) is charged with helping build support for light rail in Arvada, and for advising the City Council on important issues concerning light rail in Arvada.

Appointments to these committees are generally made each spring and positions are usually three year terms.
